Marlene

A client I'll call Marlene came to me with the problem of a wildly overactive mind. She thought things out over and over again, spinning around and around (she also suffers from vertigo) until she almost drove herself crazy.

When I went in and took a psychic look at her, I found something interesting on top of her head—a big fire over which sat a bubbling, steaming cauldron filled with some sort of liquid. As is very often the case, I pick up things in a metaphorical way. In other words, this symbol illustrated just how "hot" her brain was, and how she was "tending" the fire, carefully and consistently "cooking" whatever was in the cauldron. All of her overthinking was creating lots of heat. No wonder she didn't feel well!

When I explained what I saw, Marlene instantly knew what the image meant. It gave her a clear picture of what she was doing to herself.

Sometimes empaths and other sensitives find it difficult to not do the thinking for everyone. Typically, we want all the people around us to be happy and peaceful. So, we often take on too much responsibility, trying to make every situation work for everyone. That takes a lot of energy—and a lot of thinking!

It was obvious to both of us that Marlene needed to learn some boundaries, had to get off the roller coaster of feeling like she had to please and take care of everyone—and cool off her hot head.

As we discussed all of this, Marlene began to see exactly what was happening and how it was playing out in her life. Not only was she suffering mentally and emotionally, but she was physically depleted. I taught her some simple techniques to create healthy boundaries and we worked on not taking responsibility for the people around her. This meant learning to put herself first, which was a foreign concept at this time. We went over some simple, but powerful, self-care strategies and I gave her tools to use in the process. We also did some therapy to transform her need to be everyone's caregiver. The old trauma from childhood and adolescence began to heal and the self-destructive patterns dissipated over time. I also suggested she cool her head, literally. She used ice packs, peppermint essential oil, and spent more time outdoors in the cool air.

Marlene is now a confident, calm caregiver to and for herself. She is present, supportive, and helpful to those around her, but she doesn't get lost in their problems. She no longer feels obligated to help everyone and put herself last. This is not only allowing those around her to find their own solutions and inner strength, but it's given Marlene time and energy to pursue her passion and global mission. She doesn't feel resentful and exhausted any more, and the people in her world feel more empowered. Big wins for all concerned!

Georgia

A number of years ago, I did a phone reading for a woman I'll call Georgia. She'd just retired and moved back to her childhood home after many years in the corporate world. Leaving the big city behind and relocating to the country hundreds of miles away was challenging, but she had no idea what it would be like to return to the house she grew up in.

At first, things were pretty peaceful and kind of exciting as she embarked on the journey of making this old house her home. Then, she began feeling like something strange was going on. Odd, almost indescribable feelings overcame her and when she told a friend, that person referred her to me. 

Almost right away, I saw an older woman following Georgia around the house, shaking her finger at her as if she were disappointed. This woman was bossy and it seemed like nothing Georgia did was "right" or good enough, in the judgment of this demanding lady. As I described this woman, it became clear to Georgia that this woman was her deceased mother, Mary. Although Mary had crossed over into Spirit, she was denying her own growth by keeping herself stuck in this house still trying to control Georgia and, of course, she was making Georgia's life miserable.

As Georgia described it, she was feeling inadequate, like nothing she did was working or was right. She second-guessed nearly everything she did and was even starting to deny herself the pleasures of a budding relationship. She didn't realize it at the time, but Georgia was feeling the strong energy of her mother.

As soon as the pieces fell into place, I began seeing a man who just stood back, watching and smiling. I described this man and Georgia knew instantly that this was her dad. He was gently—almost too gently, just like in life—trying to get Mary to leave Georgia alone and go with him. It wasn't hard to see who wore the pants in that relationship! Mary hemmed and hawed, and finally calmed down enough to listen. We were able to explain to her that this behavior was destructive and highly inappropriate. Georgia was able to have her say and peace was achieved. Mary left with her husband and is hopefully moving on with her growth in the Spirit realm.

Almost immediately, Georgia reported that a feeling of calm had returned to the house. She was able to move forward with renovations, her new relationship began to blossom, and those nagging feelings of self-doubt disappeared.

The Underground Railroad

A few years ago, I was called upon to look into a house that had some strange activity. The house was occupied by several college students, some of whom were sensitives. They witnessed lights going on and off, doors opening and closing, other unusual electrical phenomena, and generally had a feeling of being watched. A psychic friend and I went in to take a look, and it became readily apparent to both of us that these students were definitely not alone.

We visited the house physically and walked around the upper floors where the living quarters were. Satisfied that we'd seen enough, we then retreated to my office to take a more in-depth, psychic look. We found an earthbound entity shuffling around the living room and kitchen area. He was confused and, after talking with him briefly, we were able to help him cross over. Not long after that, however, we both felt a strong pull to go into the basement. Oh, my! What we found down there was tragic and explained a lot about why things were happening in that house.

There were many people, mostly men, who died there while escaping slavery. (After this releasement, I found out that, indeed, this specific area was part of the Underground Railroad.) It is fairly common for souls to remain stuck in the places where their bodies died. This can happen for many reasons. In this case, these souls carried their tragedy with them and didn't know where to go or what to do, so they just remained in that dark, old basement waiting for help. We believe that is why so much activity was taking place. It was their way of asking for help.

It took awhile, but we finally released all the souls who were imprisoned in that basement. We made sure they went home, where they could heal, possibly meet up with predeceased loved ones, and move on with their souls' growth. Several days after the releasement, my friend and I received word from the students that all unusual activity had stopped and they felt alone in that house for the first time since moving in.

Joelle

I did another house releasement that ended up being very complex. Layer upon layer of energies of many different kinds were stuck and I needed two sessions to complete this work. A psychically sensitive young woman who I will call Joelle, said that she felt a presence in her room. She shared an upstairs apartment with two others, who both felt unusual things, but Joelle's feelings were more palpable due to her high level of sensitivity.

During the first session, I remotely went into her room and found a young woman in the closet. I also found something I hadn't run across before. This young spirit, whose name I later found out was Jennifer, followed Joelle around, even when Joelle left the house and visited other places. She did this because she was extremely frightened to be alone and knew she felt safe with Joelle. I had to find out why she was so terrified.

That didn't take long. As soon as I went out into the hallway, I found her father. He was well-dressed in early-1900s garb. I could see his burly physique, bearded face, and old-fashioned suit complete with vest and pocket watch. I also sensed his need to dominate and control. Jennifer was his oldest child. He was cruel to her. He berated her verbally and beat her physically. She sometimes hid in her closet. The two of them were trapped in their abusive relationship—he the tormentor, she the victim. It was clear I had to get them to cross over separately. They had to go to different places or Jennifer would never agree to go. We were able to accomplish exactly that. And, surprising to me, the one who came to help the father cross over was his son. He was so gentle and small. It seemed that the father took his misery out on the women, his daughter and his wife, but not his son. Since they crossed over, We were also able to help Jennifer cross over. After this session, Jennifer's room felt much lighter and happier, and the feeling of being followed stopped.

In the second session, I was able to see the other layers in the house. The first thing I laid eyes on was a dark entity, who was not an earthbound and therefore, never had a body. He was, as most of the dark ones do, playing games with me. They can be very deceptive and should never be listened to, let alone bargained with. They can be crossed over, but I always ask for lots of help from Spirit for this. After releasing him (or it), I looked across the living room and saw children. Lots of children were coming, seemingly, out of the woodwork. From the corner of the room, many children came. It was like an endless stream. As I asked the Light to open and was guiding them toward it, angels came along to help with the process. That continued for a very long time. Much longer than I'd anticipated, they kept coming and coming. The dark one had kept them all hostage and now they were free. What a beautiful sight!

I was then drawn outside and when I looked at the house this time, I was able to see a giant snake wrapped around the whole perimeter. He or she was choking the life out of the already nearly-lifeless house. Again, I asked for help from the archangels and those who are warriors of the Light. Thankfully, they got him or her to cross over into the Light so healing could begin. At this point, I breathed a sigh of relief thinking that the session had come to a close and this house could finally be peaceful. But that thought came too soon.

At that moment, I saw brown ooze coming up out of the ground on all sides of the house. It looked like the ground was dripping, only upward. Strange. Then, I saw faces . . . lots of them. I realized that the ground upon which the house was built had been some kind of sacred ceremonial Native land and these beings weren't happy. They had been trapped, but additionally, they felt invaded and that the ground had been desecrated. It was then that one of my master teachers showed up, who just happens to be a Native of Turtle Island (what we call North America). He began a dialogue with them. Even though they were from different nations, they were able to communicate. All I had to do was speak and my guide interpreted for me. I apologized for the negligence and overt disregard for their people and customs. I told them how much I love and appreciate them, and humbly asked for forgiveness. I asked my guide to please help them go to the Light. I very much wanted them to heal and to find peace. It worked! I felt so grateful as I watched them cross over and the house lighten.

After these two sessions, Joelle called to tell me that the house had a much better vibe. She was able to stay there as long as she needed to, knowing she was safe.
