Lots of people conduct sessions they call "energy readings". This term means different things to different practitioners. In this article, I'll explain what my readings consist of and how it all began.
When I first started doing these, I tried in vain to come up with an alternative label to the word "readings". The word seems very overused and is often misunderstood. After all, what the heck is a reading anyway? Alas, I've stayed with this overly general word because I can't seem to think of anything more suitable.
I've been communicating with what I call my spirit family—my guides, teachers, and healers—for many, many years. They're immensely helpful, extremely trustworthy, and enormously wise. When my sensitivity took another big leap forward and my gifts emerged more strongly than ever, they explained how I was to use them to do more good for people.
They taught me how to do something we later called, "AuraTouch". Since a big part of my psychic gift is tactile, they showed me how to use that sense of touch to begin a reading. There are times now when I don't need to use this as a point of entry, but I often still do, just to be thorough. But, in the early days, this is how each and every reading began. I psychically work my way around a person's energy field, as though I am moving my hands through it. I can feel different textures and those tell me if something needs attention or not. For instance, if I feel something pleasant like cool, flowing silk I know everything in that part of the energy field is fine. Likewise, if I feel something like coarse cement, sandpaper, something sticky, gooey, or just a hard, immovable object, I know that area requires careful consideration.
If there are two or more of these places, as is often the case, I'm always drawn to whichever part needs work first and begin there. Much of the time, I'll be shown the most common of the ailments I work with, emotional blockages. These can be unresolved traumas from childhood, symbolic representations of current-life challenges, unhealthy lifelong patterns, unexpressed grief, and many others. Talking about these brings them into the light of day, so to speak, and shows the client that someone else sees what they're going through. This can be very validating and either help someone begin their healing journey or encourage them to continue on the path to resolution.
Sometimes I'm led to an energy that is more parasitic in nature. These usually fall into two categories: a discarnate entity (a spirit that never crossed over after death, but is lingering in the world in between, otherwise known as the lower fourth dimension) or an emotional energy that the client accidentally picked up from a person, place, or object. Both of these can have dramatic and unpleasant effects on the host. They need to be removed and released to the Light so the client can heal. Most people at one time or another have experienced these types of attachments, whether they're aware of it or not, particularly sensitives and light workers.
Often, but not always, those in Spirit wish to visit the client to offer greetings and/or messages. These can come in the form of souls the client knew when they were here in physical form and those who are the client's spirit guides, teachers, or healers. (Those in Spirit can come in both human and animal form.)
Additionally, once in awhile, I pick up on physical challenges, though I am not a medical intuitive.
The most fulfilling part of a reading often comes toward the end when all the pieces begin to form a cohesive picture. For instance, messages from Spirit often echo the need for the client to pay close attention to the emotional blockages that arose earlier in the reading. Sometimes there will end up being a correlation between a physical challenge and an entity attachment, and so on.
For me, doing a reading is a very full experience. I hear, see, feel, and intuit all the information that comes forth. There are many times during a session, especially at the beginning, when I'm very quiet. This is because I'm listening to what I'm being told, and sometimes asking clarifying questions and waiting for an answer so I can offer the clearest information possible.
I always tell potential clients to not show up with preconceived ideas of what may happen during a reading. This is because, although we may want a particular item to happen more than anything else, Spirit is in charge and they always know what we need most—even better than we do.
I'm very happy to be able to do this rewarding work remotely. This means that no matter where a person is in the world, we can converse on the phone and get just as much accomplished as if we were in the same room.
After I receive an initial email request, we set up a time to chat briefly so I can get a sense of why someone is interested in a session and if I think I can be of assistance. This call is a free consultation so my spirit family and I can see if my abilities and what we have to offer are a good fit for the potential client. If it feels like all systems are a go, then we make an appointment to do the actual reading.
